'Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail.'

Leonardo Da Vinci — 'Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail.'

The single central challenge... Everyone is the dental community knows the challenges of the single central... Thank God for our good ceramists, strict protocol and the help of a new tool... :)

To be able to better appreciate the level of difficulty, here is a excerpt from an article published by the honorable @SpearEducation:

"The most difficult indirect restoration to fabricate from an esthetic perspective is the maxillary central incisor. The technician’s objective is to produce only a single restoration that matches the surrounding dentition, but that is not always possible – even for master level ceramists using the most sophisticated techniques and materials.

All aspects of the esthetics can be more critically evaluated (e.g. color, intensity of color, value, translucency, form, surface texture, and surface luster) between central incisors because of their proximity to each other. In contrast, when observing a lateral or a cuspid, the human eyes cannot see the contralateral tooth at the same time. When matching a lateral or cuspid next to another tooth, the esthetic aspects being compared are different.

Dentists should expect that it could take multiple attempts to produce a crown or veneer that meets the esthetic needs of the patient, and not become frustrated by the process. I personally consider the first attempt at producing a single central similar to producing custom shade guide, because inserting and photographing it gives the technician a better idea of how the ceramic will appear intraorally."

Have you ever been faced with a difficult central case?

Choosing the EASY way never pays in dentistry.

picture3.jpg

Choosing the EASY way never pays in dentistry. Cutting corners and trying to guess parameters is NOT a good way to go when we want to achieve a predictable and successful result.

When we are faced with a challenging case, we always think of the case with the best possible outcome in mind. We do meetings in the lab, we discuss different solutions and think them through before offering them to the clinician for a final decision.

We are driven by a passion to do things RIGHT, every step of each case, case after case, after case... But then again, what seems like the right thing to do from a technician’s or ceramist’s point of view might not be what is right for the clinician or the patient. That’s where TEAMWORK & COMMUNICATION comes in.

BEAUTY is subjective.
EXPECTATIONS differ.
PRIORITIES can be relative.

With INTEGRITY, TRANSPARENCY, HONESTY, and SOLUTION DRIVEN COMMUNICATIONS, we can achieve our best work and be proud of our job.

Styledent: Providing Dentists with Continuing Education since 2008

There is only one way to express your appreciation and gratitude in life and in business.

It is to share and give back to the community you are from…

Styledent

Did you know that here at Styledent, we have been giving conferences in our lab since 2013?

For many years, we have been driven by a desire to create community around dental learning and bridging the gap between dentists and dental technicians.

Our main conference, on dental materials, started in 2008 when Dimitri Tsichlis, lab tech, owner and president of Styledent was the first ever dental lab technician in history to give a lecture to dentists at the Université de Montréal and at Université Laval in Quebec City for the Dental Continuing Education Program.

From this point on, the conference evolved year after year following the ever changing materials used in the lab. Since then, it was given at the Canadian Armed Forces, and many dental societies and study clubs in the province of Quebec. When we expanded our premises and moved into a new location in 2012, we decided to bring this course home to welcome our participants right here in our lab.

We feel grateful and privileged to be able to meet so many talented dentists and prosthodontists via our lectures and to be able to make a difference in their practice by demystifying the ever changing materials and their indications.

With Styledent Academy this year, we have even bigger goals. With a brand new space dedicated for the Academy, we have the goal of impacting more people. The goal of creating a community where we offer dentists the opportunity to improve their practice, to up their game, to become their highest self with various topics that are relevant to their practice, their business and their wellness with simple tips that they can implement right there and then, as soon as they leave the class. With the help of a curated list of talented speakers, in the setting of small intimate groups or online classes, it can be possible.

It is HAPPENING!

Our calendar is complete for the Spring, but please submit in the comments topics that you would like to learn about, or a speaker you would like us to invite.

Would you like to be the first to know about our next conferences? Then fill out this form right here.
